Partners in PROMISE knows that we can not accomplish change without collaboration, hard work and tenacity. Thank you all for helping get #EFMP legislation into both the House and Senate versions of the 2021 NDAA!
We also know that thanking those who helped get the job done, our legislators, goes a long way to build lasting relationships that will help us in the years to come. If you asked your representatives to support this legislation we have created a sample email for your use.
Thank you for supporting the military’s Exceptional Family Member Program (EFMP) families. Your support for EFMP reforms and GAO studies on special education challenges within the 2021 National Defense Authorization Act will make significant improvements in the education of our most vulnerable children. These great first steps will help ensure our children are provided a Free Appropriate Public Education as designed by IDEA.
While the NDAA lays the foundation for reform, we ask for your continued ongoing support. Partners in PROMISE, a grassroots advocacy organization, founded by four military mothers of special needs children in order to advocate for all military children with special needs, has created a White Paper with proposals that I believe would further help our community by improving the military’s Exceptional Family Member Program.
Partners in PROMISE White Paper can be found here: https://thepromiseact.org/resources/white-paper/
Thank you again for your support and we look forward to working with you.
