Partners in PROMISE is pleased to offer educational workshops tailored for small groups, available both virtually and in person. These workshops are designed to support military families with Individualized Education Program (IEP) and advocacy training and materials while also providing an opportunity to connect with other military families with special needs and expand their support network.
Since Fall 2023, over 600 families have participated in PIP’s Special Education & Exceptional Family Member Program (EFMP) Binder workshops at installations across the U.S. Our survey data shows that EFMP families often lack the information needed to advocate for their children effectively. Many families struggle to understand how the Individuals with Disabilities Education Act (IDEA) and the Every Student Succeeds Act (ESSA) can support and protect their children’s education as they move between school districts and states.
